About P.J. MacWilliam’s Bon Bon
A Short History
P.J. MacWilliam’s Bon Bon at 294 Rte 101 in Amherst, NH, was established on October 8, 2009.
Prior to being a shop owner, I was a stay-at-home mom. I dabbled in gift basket creation and even sold some of my creations in local shops and at home shows. I slowly became aware of a desire to have my own shop, but with a slightly different flair. I knew that I wanted to offer adorable gift and accessory options at very affordable prices.
I have always had an eye for a great bargain, so I knew that the core purpose of my store would be to keep prices low, while still offering great stuff! This store is all about having fun without breaking the bank! PJ MacWilliam’s is the place for thrifty shoppers with excellent taste!!
What’s in a Name?
“PJ’s,” “The Bon Bon Shop,” “MacWilliam’s.” These all lead to one place!
When I chose my business name a couple of years ago, I had no idea how many nicknames would develop! It’s true, it’s a looong name. Still, I just couldn’t change it when I opened my shop because it is very sentimental in origin. The name, “PJ MacWilliam’s Bon Bon,” evolved from my kids’ names. The “PJ” stands for my middle guy, Patrick John. “Mac” are my daughter’s and husband’s initials. And, my oldest is “William.”
A Life-Changing Experience
I would be leaving out a very important part of this story if I didn’t mention the fact that the results of opening my store have been “life changing.” Unexpectedly, the most wonderful part of owning this business is the people I have gotten to know. Sounds corny, I know. Still, it’s the truth.
I have met the most amazing, warm, thoughtful, brilliant, and loving people through my shop! This, coupled with all of the support I have received, has given me a changed outlook on life – amazing!
